Scenes from India: Udaipur

Yes, Udaipur really is as beautiful and romantic as they say. (for more pics, see this post)
Lake Pichola.

Okay, maybe it's not all lovely.

Nigel, one of my travel companions.
City Palace, owned by the local royal family. They claim to be the second-oldest dynasty in the world.

A guard at City Palace.

A temple.
Selling flowers to devotees at the temple.

This man painted a tiny elephant on my thumb nail. Worst time for me
not to know how to use the micro button on my camera.
Boat ride to Nehru Park island.

On the way to horseback riding.

Cow patties, used for fuel and other things.
Peacocks, considered a menace in farming circles. As the country's official bird
no one will kill them, but  farmers do have to chase them away.
Rocking the bell bottom look!

Building a wall. It's government land and a wall
discourages people from building stores and homes on it.

One more shot of beautiful Lake Pichola.
